Congrats! They are the gateway drug to trackdays. Once you do that, it's hard to go back. At least, it was for me.

I did a few last year, but now I am going all out. I would totally be up for trackdays but they are expensive! Plus I don't have proper pads or fluids right now. I will try the year after though, I will have all the proper parts and the proper money.

Yes, they're more money, especially depending on any ancillary expenditures (like hotel if the track is far), but you get more seat time (and fun) for your money.
Last AX I did was $40 for three runs, maybe a total of 6 minutes seat time. $6.67 per minute. Plus, you're spending all day there for three lousy runs.
A NASA HPDE runs me about $250 for a weekend: eight 20 minute sessions for a total of 160 minutes of seat time. That's $2.08 per minute. And they don't have you work the track like you do for AX.

3 runs!!?!?! I guess if you live in less populated areas like I do, you can get more runs. I usually get 8!! But I completely understand that track days are better value, but they are still damn expensive!!
